Hi! Thank you for visiting Lovelace Originals.com & Jump Off Joe Studios, my home on the web...
My other home is in the great Pacific NW, near the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, close to the rainforests of the Olympic Mountains and the beautiful native waters of Puget Sound. From here I draw so much inspiration for my work.
While I've always used my creative drive and ability in everyday life, it is only recently that I discovered my gift for sculpting. Jump Off Joe Studios was founded in early 2008 as a leap of faith. I had the dream, the desire and just had to Jump!... then humble myself and ask for help. The results are my sculptures, Jump Off Joe Studios, LoveLaceOriginals.com, and a gathering of loyal fans & supporters, thanks to each and every one of you!!!
I am without formal art training or a collegiate degree, but what I do have is an eye for the realistic, the details that surround us all. Understanding that art is very "subjective" and beauty lies in the "eye of the beholder", still, when I looked around at the reproductions on the market today, something just did not seem right to me. The most beautiful of work was the most expensive and I wanted to see works that "Come Alive". When you look closely at them and you see "Movement", "Life", "Activity" , you see them "Breathe" I did not want just a static piece to sit in the corner without really being enjoyed. I wanted to give art consumers an affordable alternative to pricey bronze sculptures... so Wha-La! Lovelace Originals was born! Now you can have the best of both worlds!

Created using poly or synthetic clay and finished with liquid bronze, brass, silver or other metal coat, my works have the look, feel and depth of actual cast bronze, but each piece is an original, one of a kind, sculpted by hand without any mold or casts. Hand crafted with fine details to make them come alive and breath
When purchasing a bronze sculpture, but what do you get? Under $1000 may get you a very small reproduction with the fine details being lost. Move up in size and pay $2000, $4000, possibly even $10,000 dollars or more! I feel art should be affordable to everyone, to the average “Joe”, and I price my Clayscapes that way.

About the Process
With the following process Pam Lovelace creates Lovelace Originals with the look and feel of real bronze.
She begins by overlaying the clay onto a wire or mesh armature, then bulking it out to achieve the desired look.
The scenes are then placed onto a base made from either recycled cedar laminated, routed, stained, and finished with clear lacquer, Or, local recycled stone.
Natural elements to enhance the scene are added and fine details such as fur, facial features and water complete the sculpture.
The piece is then baked to a hard ceramic finish and brushed with a liquid crushed bronze, an acid solution is then added to the details, giving them beautiful patina effects and highlights. Finally, a light clear coat may be added to preserve the patina.
